Denialfest 2007: It's On!
I've posted
numerous times on what seems to be an emerging shift in intellectual conservative arguments about global warming: from outright denial to a nuanced form of defeatism.
Evidently, though, it's taking some time for the message to filter down to the shouters. Judging by the evidence at conservative movement mainstay Human Events, gleeful stupidity is still the order of the day when it comes to discussing climate change.
R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. says global warming
can't come fast enough.
Doug Patton makes a bid for the all-time Up-is-Downism championship by accusing climate realists (whom he calls "cultists") of being "flat earthers."
Bill Steigerwald conducts an interview with
oil-industry-funded denialist
Tim Ball.
And
Thomas Sowell offers up a
rambling three-part epic of denialism.
Keep in mind that these people would also claim, with a straight face, to represent the party of national security.
